Location: the hotel was just next door to the tunnel/ferry, and beautiful gardens. The room was well decorated and lovely, and it had an electric kettle and a private entrance that were useful.

My first room was very small.

the charming lakeside retreat in Ardres exceeded our expectations. The warm hospitality, beautiful grounds, and delicious homemade breakfast made our city break truly memorable. We will definitely be back to explore the area further.

The unit we got was nicely decorated and reasonably large with coffee, milk, as example. The hotel was in a perfect location, to the lake at the back where we took a brief walk.

The location was perfect, walking distance to the town and just a short drive to the tunnel. I highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Its location was magnificent, close to beautiful lakes, a restaurant, La Maison du Chef and ferry. The hotel was off the main road. I stayed here during the trip and enjoyed it.

in general i had spacious, tastefully decorated room, beds were exceptionally comfortable. i had a view of garden from my window.

Make sure to get double room with coffee, tea selection, milk. There is an electric kettle and glassware:)))

I stayed 1 night and would stay here again when visiting France. The location was magnificent and lovely, relatively near Les Poires. By the way, a garden and a lake were near the place. The bus stop was 200 metres away...

The garden was beautiful and provided a scenic backdrop for walks by the lake. The breakfast served in the morning was absolutely delicious, with homemade milk/coconut yogurt and jams that were simply delightful. The property is beautifully situated, with a large garden that backs onto a serene lake. It was the perfect place to take a peaceful walk and unwind. The location was also extremely convenient, as it was just a short drive from the Eurotunnel. However, despite its proximity to the main road, the property was surprisingly quiet. I also found it convenient that there were several restaurants within a short walk from the property. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly and quiet retreat near Calais. I highly recommend this lovely property.

The drive from the ferry port was straightforward and not very long. The host was very friendly and welcoming, and spoke good English. The room was lovely, with good hanging and cupboard space. The shower had excellent power. WiFi worked! The accommodation had a path leading to a beautiful lake where we took a brief walk. Access was off the main road so very easy to get to, but no noise. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the shared dining room.

I had a restful night's sleep and woke up to a delicious Continental style breakfast, complete with homemade items. Isabelle, the owner, was extremely charming and helpful throughout my stay. She took the time to show me around and share the history of her home. The nearby town offered a variety of dining options, all within a few minutes' walk. I highly recommend Au Retour Du Lac as a quality stopover or short break holiday destination. I truly hope to have the opportunity to stay again, this time for a few days.
